Incentives in 2026

The straight story on solar savings

Solar incentives changed a lot recently. Here's what's true today, so there are no surprises.

Ended

Federal 30% tax credit for buyers

The federal tax credit for homeowners who buy their system ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025. Be wary of anyone still promising it for a purchase.

Our approach

Own it, don't rent it

Some companies push leases or PPAs, where they own the panels on your roof and keep a federal credit through 2027. We sell systems you own, paid in cash or with a $0-down loan, so the savings and the added home value are yours.

Ends soon

No higher property taxes

In California, adding solar doesn't raise your property taxes for systems completed before January 1, 2027.

Why batteries matter

NEM 3.0 billing

SCE, PG&E and SDG&E customers now get much less credit for solar power sent back to the grid. A battery lets you store that power and use it in the evening, when electricity costs the most.

Depends on your utility

Local programs

LADWP and some city-owned utilities, such as Pasadena and Riverside, have their own rules and rebates. We'll check what applies to your address.

Still available

Lower electric bills

The biggest savings never went away: producing your own power instead of paying rising utility rates, year after year.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot

Don't see yours? Call or text us at (818) 863-6250.

How long does installation take?

Most home installs take 1 to 3 days on site, depending on system size and whether we're adding a battery or upgrading your electrical panel. The whole process, including design, permits, inspection and utility approval, usually takes several weeks, mostly waiting on the city and utility. We handle all of it for you.

Will solar panels damage my roof?

Not when installed correctly. We use manufacturer-approved mounts with flashing that seals each attachment point, and our work is covered by our 25-year workmanship warranty. If your roof is near the end of its life, we'll tell you up front and can coordinate a new roof through our roofing partner before installing.

What happens during a power outage?

Solar panels alone shut off during an outage. That's a safety rule so power doesn't flow back onto lines utility crews are repairing. With a battery, your home keeps running on stored and solar power, automatically. We can also install standby generators for longer outages.

How does NEM 3.0 affect me?

If you're with SCE, PG&E or SDG&E and go solar now, you're on the Net Billing Tariff, often called NEM 3.0. Power you send back to the grid earns much less credit than the power you buy. That's why most new systems include a battery: you store your extra solar energy and use it in the evening instead of buying expensive utility power. LADWP and some city utilities have different rules, and we'll explain yours.

What if I sell my house?

A system you own typically adds value and appeal to your home, and it transfers with the sale. If your system is leased or on a PPA, the agreement can usually be transferred to the buyer. We're happy to provide system documents for your sale.

Is there still a federal solar tax credit?

Not for homeowners who buy their system. That credit ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025. Leased and PPA systems, where a company owns the panels, can still get a federal credit through 2027, but that credit goes to the company. We sell systems you own, with cash or $0-down loans. See our incentives section above for what's still available.

Do you work on systems another company installed?

Yes. We adopt orphaned systems whose installer has gone out of business or stopped responding, and we can add panels or a battery to an existing system.

Do you handle permits and the utility paperwork?

Yes. We take care of permits, utility interconnection, inspections and permission to operate, and we keep you updated at each step.

How much does solar cost?

It depends on your energy use, roof and equipment. We offer free quotes with a clear, itemized price. $0-down financing is available through GoGreen Home, California's state-backed program, and Energy Loan Network.
