The short version
- We collect the details you give us so we can quote, schedule and do your project.
- We don't sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
- We share it only with companies that help us run our business or complete your project.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information, and you can stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Brightstone Renewable Energy, a Brightstone Electric company ("Brightstone," "we," "us" or "our"), a licensed California contractor (CA Lic. #1086871) serving Southern California. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, by phone, by text and by email.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Quote requests: your first name, phone number, email address (optional), city or ZIP code, the services you're interested in and anything you tell us about your project.
- Referrals: your name and phone number, and the name, phone number and interests of the person you're referring.
- Projects: if you become a customer, details needed to design and complete your job, such as your address, utility information, energy usage, photos of your property, and information needed for financing, permits, utility interconnection and warranties.
- Communications: the content of calls, texts and emails you exchange with us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: like nearly all websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Spam protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser and device to tell people apart from automated bots.
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or social media pixels on this website.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and quote requests
- To design, schedule, install, inspect and service your system
- To arrange financing, permits, utility interconnection and equipment warranties that you ask us to handle
- To contact the people you refer and to pay referral rewards
- To send occasional updates or offers, if you have agreed to receive them
- To protect our website and forms from spam, fraud and abuse
- To keep business records and meet our legal, licensing, tax and insurance obligations
4. Calls and text messages
When you submit a form or give us your phone number, you agree that we may call or text you about your request, your project and related service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP or calling (818) 863-6250. We will only send promotional texts if you have agreed to receive them, and agreeing is never a condition of buying from us.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Referrals
When you refer someone, we ask you to confirm they know about the referral and are comfortable with us reaching out. We use their information only to contact them about our services and to track your referral reward. If someone you referred asks us not to contact them, we will stop.
6. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting and security (Cloudflare), customer management (HubSpot) and email (Google Workspace). They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Project partners when needed to complete work you ask for, such as financing companies, equipment manufacturers (for system registration and warranties), utilities, permitting authorities and inspectors, and our roofing partner if you request roofing.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, court order or government request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Brightstone, our customers or others.
- Business transfers: if our business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to protect them.
- With your permission in any other case.
7. Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies for advertising or analytics. Our spam-protection service may store limited technical information in your browser to confirm you're not a bot.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: we do not track visitors across other websites or over time for advertising, so these browser signals do not change how our site works.
To display our fonts, your browser loads them from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request. Google's handling of that information is described in its own privacy policy.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Customer records are kept for the life of your system's warranties and as long as required for licensing, tax and legal purposes. Inquiries that don't become projects are deleted when we no longer need them, and you can ask us to delete yours sooner.
9. Security
Our website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we limit access to your information to people who need it to do their jobs. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if required by law.
10. Your choices and rights
- See, correct or delete: you can ask what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law or to honor your warranty.
- Opt out of messages: reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or tell us by phone.
- No discrimination: we will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
California residents: California law gives you rights over your personal information, including the right to know what we collect and how we use it, to correct or delete it, and to know whether it is sold or shared. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own direct marketing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request for you.
11. Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as Yelp and Thumbtack. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please review their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we will post a notice on our website.
